Amanda Bossard, fresh out of Anchorage High School in 1992 began her studies in marine biology. Bossard began her profession as a commercial seafood worker in 1999. Bossard began working with the ship F/V Sunset which was a 65' halibut schooner which was converted into a tender for salmon in the name of Murat Aritan. She worked in commercial fishing since. Bossard who is married to Aritan, has joined their forces in order to claim their respective industries. They believe in conservative, sustainable management of renewable seafood resources. Otolith is a direct wholesale seafood distributor which was founded by a woman in Philadelphia in 2007, by a mother of two kids, Bella age 3 and Andre one year old. Otolith's name is an affectionate memory of Bossard's deep experience with fish biology as well as her husband's vast connections to the business of fishing. The two are frequently separated for up to 5 months each time they work towards objectives in the areas of environmental and financial that show their determination to their independence no matter where they reside. Bossard's daughters Isabella 12 years old and son Andre 10 return annually to Southeast Alaska to work in the position of deckhand throughout the salmon wild season.
